Surprise surprise. A mini gathering happened today.
Went to City Hall today. Gosh, it seems like it has been a long time since I went there. Tried Out of the Pan.
Since dear wasn't feeling really hungry, he ordered a sweet crepe: Tiramisu. Quite nice actually.
I preferred a savoury one. So I ordered a peking duck crepe. Actually it's duck meat crepe.
Ok, after which we met Sheng Long and Michael. And we went to Suntec to find Evelyn.
*Posted without permission hah!* Evelyn was cosplaying as Leenalee of D.Gray Man.
A few minutes later, we saw Shu Jun, Eunice and Hui Mei making their way towards us. Then we saw Yulin and Syafiq serveral meters away from us. 10 people from DAC 05 at the same place ha!
Went to TCC for a cuppa and chat for a while. Went home soon after.
NOT looking forward to tomorrow.

Nothing on food this time! But...
I finally made contacts! With 800 degree in each of both eyes, I am almost as blind as a bat with my glasses off.
I had wanted contacts since... well ages ago if I really had to say. Glasses are quite a hindrance, be it work or play. But, just thinking that having to wash the lenses after wearing puts me off, and hearing about discomfort when wearing contacts made it worse. So, I stick to my good old trustworthy glasses.
So why the decision to make now? I really had no idea. I only mentioned that I would like to make contacts some day to my aunts some days ago, then on Sunday, they suggested me going to a professional to have my eyes checked; whether they're suitable for contacts a not. And poof, here I am, at home, with 2 boxes of contacts and a bottle of saline solution.
Putting on the contacts for the first time just now, is really difficult. My eyes just couldn't stop blinking whenever the finger with the len came near. After I succeeded with the right eye, the left eye proved to be harder. But it got in after countless tries, AND getting it out is like x10 times more difficult that the right eye.
Can't wait for the day I officially use contacts. ;)

Finally! The much awaited long weekend has arrived! Wasn't in a particularly good mood this week.
Went to eat some Thai food on Tuesday night at a coffeeshop like place opposite my workpalce. Forgotten what it is called. But it's near Villa Bali. Had the Thai platter. A bit too much for 2 persons. X_X
After which we went to the newly opened bridge which connects Mt Faber to Alexandar Road. Yep, we walked along the metal bridge above the forest. It was quite dark by the time we finished the food and I am not really enjoying the walk because it's dark and there are trees nearby the bridge. I do not like the trees one bit during night.
Was feeling really bored and stuffy at home so I decided to go to Vivo for a walk alone. But changed my mind after waiting for almost 20 minutes for 855 and 65. And when I started to walk towards the direction of Tiong Bahru Plaza, two bus 65 came. I'm sure this always happens to everybody. Whenever you want to take that particular bus, you'll have to wait a long time for the bus. But when you do not want to take that bus, it's arrivals became so frequent.
Had sworn to buy some (new) foundation because it's GSS now; Wastons is having quite a sale. But when I got there, ZA 2-way is selling for 14 plus for 2 cakes. ZZZ! I want to try out some new brands and this happens. Then there were so many people that I was too embarrassed to try out the shades After having a mind battle in my brain, I gave up altogether and walked out without buying anything.
Then I went to the ground level where Subway is, there was a new pie shop named Pie Kia if I remembered correctly. Was having a suddenly craving for pie so I bought a small one to try it out. Er, not that bad if you are not a connoisseur of pies.

Feels like I'm hosting a food blog now. *Laughs* Acutally this post is to make myself hungry. Well, life is almost a routine now, except for occasional eating outs or what not.
Had been OT-ing almost every day last week, except for Thursday. Fell sick on Wednesday with a runny nose and sore throat. Woke up on Thursday morning with a fever and cough. So opted against going to work and went to see a doctor in the morning. The feeling of not going to work is totally SHIOK hah. But, it's on the expense of a day's worth of pay.
Friday, luckily, I was released from OT early at 8 pm. Went straight to Vivo, where my aunts and mom were for dinner as a celebration of one of my aunt's birthday. They wanted dinner Pu Tian @ Food Republic. But when I arrived there, they had only just sat down in 1 little corner of the Pu Tian area, and there's 1 whole line waiting for seats. And the whole place is so squeezy and tiny. Wasn't a very comfortable and enjoyable eating experience.
First up is this fried sweet potato fritters. It's scalding hot. And I put it into my mouth just like that. You can imagine my expression afterwards when I realised the temperature of that thing.
Next is this 生煎包. Nothing special.
This is the 扣肉包's bun deep fried with 芝麻 on top. We are supposed to stuff the meat into the bun and eat it. Imagine the amount of oil being absorbed into the buns. I love the buns when it's steamed, not fried. But the meat's pretty good though, because it has lots of ONIONS, which is good for the health.
Kailan with beancurd skin. Nothing special too. Tasted a bit plain.
Chicken! Well, my mom forbade me to eat as many as I want because I'm sick, so I just ate a piece. I actually liked it. But my aunts and mom commented that it's too salty and left quite a bit. =(
Weird noodles. The noodles is actually the transparent like strands. Taste-wise, it's pretty normal.
The healthiest dish amongst all. Had a fishy smell though. X(
Deep fried pig trotters! Yup, it's as oily as it looks.
I did not touch this dish as I was busy talking to my cousin about her new phrase of life in polytechnic.
Saturday; went to Dear's home to slack and crash some cars in NFS. Wasn't having much of an appetite for rice or noodles and so he suggested for some dim sum eatery called 揾到食 in Sims Ave (actually in Geylang).
Woo hoo. Chinese tea.
Fried yam cake. Personally, I like yam cakes and carrot cakes very much, be it steamed or fried.
Chee cheong fun with char siew. Not that bad at all.
Crab meat siew mai. Warning, contains part of the crab. You know, the transparent 'bone' in the pincers.
Har gao. Woah so steamy. Better than most har gao I've eaten. The skin is superbly thin.
Steamed prawns with garlic. Try it, if you dare. The garlic doesn't cover the stinky smell of prawns. We suspect that the prawns were not fresh in the first place.
Mini meat buns. Very normal. At least the filling is not that oily.
After paying for the bill, we were giving 2 pandan chiffon cake by the staff, 1 person each,
lah. She said that her boss made it for Mother's Day and is giving it out for free. Oh well, we just took it, though we felt bewildered.
Went to City Hall afterwards and I felt a mad urge to shop. But, I had to stop myself otherwise I'll be spending all of my planned savings. I'm in quite a dilemma now.
Sunday: Happy Mother's Day! Was planning to make my mom's favourite durian chessecake today morning BUT she declined. =( She claims that she couldn't finish the cake all by herself. It has been 5 months since I'd made my cake. I need some other excuse to make a cake now.

Dear and I wanted to try out the new McGriddles today.
But upon arriving MacDonald @ Geylang East today, I changed my mind. It was CROWDED with children and parents. And I mean REALLY CROWDED. Crap, I forgot it was a public holiday.
Right, if you have ever been to McD recently, you would have known that they changed their serving system. It used to be... well, when you order, you wait there until your order is ready, then you leave and the next person can order. Now is you order and you stand to the other side of the counter to wait for your order, then the next person orders and then he/she stands behind you to wait for her order. Gah, just go McD and order something and you'll get what I mean.
Well, with all the
gan jiong parents standing in line and the BRATS running/crying/begging/jumping/etc EVERYWHERE, you can imagine how chaotic it is there. And I just want my McGriddles!!! Of course the service crew are stressed and got mixed up easily. I almost felt sorry for them, almost.
After 20 to 30 minutes I think, finally got the McGriddles we want. 打包-ed of course.
Well, it looks kinda crappy as compared to the ads.
Tasted kinda weird too. It's sweet yet salty. The sweetness comes from the pancakes and the saltiness comes from the sausage and cheese. The egg? Well no taste. But then I've gotten a bonus from the egg.
Egg shell.
